Got a Tooth Knocked Out?

Cosmetic Dentistry in Prescott, AZ

Cosmetic Dentistry in Prescott, AZ

Last week we delved into some of the rejuvenating cosmetic procedures Prescott Dentistry offers. However, we only touched the surface. So take a deep breath, we’re about to go deeper! We already focused on restoring the coloration of our patient’s teeth via our advanced whitening process and rapidly restructuring smiles with porcelain veneers. So what else does Prescott Dentistry have to offer?

Replace your lost teeth with dental implants! Are you suffering from natural tooth loss? Maybe after you lost a baby tooth the new one just never came in? Or maybe you just play a lot of hockey or full contact martial arts and had a few knocked loose? Whatever the reason may be, Prescott Dentistry offers implants which are artificial teeth permanently anchored to the jaw. Far superior to dentures that have to be taken out. Implants are permanent and mimic having your natural teeth again.

Perhaps you aren’t the rambunctious type to get your entire tooth knocked out, maybe you just tripped on your yoga mat and chipped your tooth a bit. Despite the cause, Prescott Dentistry has the answer. Bonding and cosmetic contouring can restore your smile to its former brilliance, or even improve it. Using the latest boned materials to sculpt teeth, bonding is a quick, painless, and affordable way to fix minor cosmetic injuries and flaws.

Do You Smile with Your Teeth?

Do you intentionally avoid showing your teeth when you smile? Are you a master of the close-mouthed half-smile? It’s safe to say that a majority of people aren’t as happy with their smiles as they could be. What stops many folks from acting on these insecurities is the assumption that dental procedures, especially those of the cosmetic variety, are costly and time-intensive. However, that’s not always the case.

Is the reason you avoid “saying cheese” in photos because your teeth actually resemble that yellowed cheese a little bit? Well fear not! The physicians at Prescott Dentistry can treat stained, aging, or discolored teeth with advanced teeth whitening processes. The cherry on top? These procedures can be done in just over an our in-office. At-home treatments also help retain the whitening results.

Not just the color? Perhaps its the shapes or spacing of your teeth? Braces aren’t the only option in that case. Ultra-thin porcelain veneers are porcelain shells custom-fitted over your teeth. These can be combined with porcelain crowns for severely broken teeth, and best of all you can revamp your smile in just 2 visits!

Prescott Dentistry also offers dental implants, bonding and cosmetic contouring, dentures, and biomimetic cosmetic bonded fillings. Contact us for more information.

Link Between Family Aggression and Poor Dental Health

A recent study published by the Journal of the American Dental Association has shown a link between verbal aggression and violence in the home and the amount of cavities a family has.

The effects were not limited to the children of these families. The adults with substandard oral health generally had spouses who were physically or verbally aggressive towards them. The kids whose mothers were aggressive to their fathers also had missing, decayed, or filled teeth.

Along with negatively affecting oral care routines and healthy eating, noxious environments in the home also influence the immune system.

It is important to recognize that the researchers of this study indicated that their findings do not prove that these toxic behaviors are the sole cause of insufficient oral health, simply that there is a connection.

Biomimetic Dentistry – All Natural

Biomimetic Dentistry

“All Natural” is all the rage these days. Backlash to the pre-internet age where there was very little consumer knowledge has moved organic, natural, and sustainable products to the forefront of the marketplace. Social acceptance for healthy eating and healthy living seems to be on the rise and has gained importance significantly in contrast to the peak of fast food culture 10-15 years ago. This trend isn’t just limited to food, shoes, and cars. The medical world has also begun to take more cues from nature with more sustainable and preventative practices.

Biomimetic Dentistry is the “All Natural” of the dentistry world. To some of you that just reads “more expensive,” while that might be true for Whole Foods and the organic food world, Biomimetic dentistry can actually save you money by allowing you to avoid more invasive, costly dental procedures down the road. The key is to treat the weakened teeth earlier, saving the healthy enamel, creating a stronger foundation for Biomimetic bonding.

Biomimetic bonding techniques can save your teeth by removing old bacteria, sealing out new infections & bacteria, restoring natural function and strength, and essentially eliminating sensitivity.
